“Fluid Matters” is a transdisciplinary work by Nora Mertes and Isabelle Schad in collaboration with David Kummer, Forough Fami, and Raoul Arnaud. The project combines choreography, sculpture and sound. At its core is a collaborative exploration of physicality, materiality, and perception. Sculptural elements made of fabric, ceramics, and metal serve as resonating bodies that are activated by movement. Through an iterative process, choreographic and spatial constellations emerge in which movement, presence, object, and sound influence one another.
The ensemble—with backgrounds in dance, visual arts and experimental music—thus develops a dynamic structure that transcends disciplinary boundaries. For the exhibition at Hošek Contemporary, a walk-through space is created: Visitors move through a constantly changing setting in which installation, sound, and performance intertwine, opening up diverse spaces of perception.
