University of Kaiserslautern / 27 students from architecture and interior design / Winter Semester 24/25

As part of an interdisciplinary project, students of interior design and architecture explored the formal language of microorganisms, which are currently the subject of research by Prof. Dr. Thorsten Stoeck of the RPTU Kaiserslautern-Landau. Using clay, the students greatly enlarged the complex nanoscale structures of bacteria and rendered them in three dimensions. This intensive, hands-on exploration fostered a deeper understanding of the form and function of microbiological structures.

The project was complemented by a field trip to the “Betze, K-Town, Pfaff” exhibition at the Pfalzgalerie, material experiments with clay, and the students’ individual design concepts. HS Kaiserslautern
